Three Natural Ways to Lighten Hair

For those with dirty blonde or light brown hair who want to lighten it but don’t want chemicals touching your hair.

I myself have dark blonde hair, which always gets darker in the winter. I never get it colored in fear of damaging it (and because I don’t like dark roots). Here are some natural ways to lighten your hair.

1. Honey

Honey seems to be good for everything. Mix it with a little conditioner, put on a shower cap, and leave it on overnight. Repeat this process about twice a week and you should notice your hair start to lighten. Honey contains a small amount of hydrogen peroxide, making it ideal for this use.

2. Chamomile

Brew a strong pot of chamomile tea and mix a little with your conditioner in an empty bottle. With the rest of the tea, wash your hair. Air dry it and sit in the sun if possible. If you want the effect to be noticeable, wash and condition with chamomile often.

3. Lemon juice

This is one of my personal favorites. All you have to do is put lemon juice and a little water in a spray bottle and apply it to strands of your hair. Then sit in the sun for a while. Do this every couple of days and you will have beautiful highlights.
